As a team roper, I am constantly looking for ways to improve my roping skills. Through the years I have been to roping schools that inspire me to become a better horsewoman. A common theme at most schools is to “ride your horse” better. When I found out about Morgan’s horsemanship clinics, I was curious to see how she could help me with riding my rope horse. Since her home is close by, we invited her to give some friends and me a clinic at our arena. Immediately I saw the things that would not only apply to improving my riding and knowledge of horses, but to use those things to teach my horse the respect and softness that makes a better rope horse. Morgan’s techniques taught me how to get that respectful attitude from my horse that has made him easier to teach. My horse is now more sensitive to lighter pressure from my legs and hands, which makes him quicker to respond when I am making a run. When I saw the excellent results from both of my horses, I was anxious to get more. My husband and I went to Morgan’s facility to get a private lesson to build onto our existing knowledge base. This gave me a more advanced approach when working with what my horses already knew as well as knowing what to do in situations that I may not have encountered before.
The main benefit that I have received from her training is that I have a better “feel” when riding and have the knowledge to continually improve on these applications.
I would definitely recommend her clinic to anyone seeking an understanding of what is necessary for better horse/owner communication.
Thanks Morgan! I am looking for a date to return very soon!
